Quarter-length studio portrait of Andrew Clement, a first lieutenant in Company K, 15th Wisconsin Infantry, in uniform. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Waupun, Wisconsin. On October 05, 1861, he enlisted in Waupun, Wisconsin was mustered into service in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 22. When he was mustered in he was appointed to the rank of sergeant; this ranking was reduced on May 10, 1862 to Musician. In October 1862, he was commissioned as a first lieutenant and transferred to Company K, 15th Wisconsin Infantry. In October 1863, he was taken prisoner while on picked duty near Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was paroled and returned to service in December 1863. He was sent on leave which he took in Briggsville, Wisconsin, where he died of chronic diarrhea on September 23, 1864.
