This 1859 map of Sauk County, Wisconsin, shows the township and range grid, towns, sections, landowners, rural residences, roads, railroads, schools, churches, cemeteries, mills and other businesses, prairies, lakes, and streams and wetlands. Hills are shown with hachures. Inset diagrams of effigy mounds, illustrations of local buildings and scenery, and a statistical description of the cities and villages in the county are printed in the margins.
