At the west end of the district, the two-and-one-half-story Engebretsen-Dorr House greets visitors with a pediment over the porch entry; its bas-relief pineapple symbolizes hospitality. Edward Engebretsen, a merchant and former mayor, hired George Bradley and Son to design his house. Built in 1895, it illustrates the Free Classic substyle of the Queen Anne, with its Tuscan columns and classical pediment gracing the wrap-around veranda. The asymmetrical plan, pedimented inset balcony, multiple gables, and octagonal corner tower are typical Queen Anne traits. Inside, white and red oak, pine, cherry, and bird’s-eye maple decorate the rooms.

"This Queen Anne house was built in 1895. Edward Engebretsen was a dry goods merchant, as well as Whitewater's first Treasurer and second Mayor. John Dorr, who worked as the head of the Electric Company's sales department, was his son-in-law. This was the first house in Whitewater to be wired for electricity. The house is now the Victorian-on-Main Bed and Breakfast. An urn given from the original builder to the Engebretsens still sits on a pedestal in the home." Touring Historical Whitewater, n.d.
