| Additional Comments |
1998- Sturtevant USARC consists of two buildings located on 10.85 acres of land. The area immediately surrounding the buildings is covered by asphalt or concrete, with some landscaped areas. The land has been significantly altered by construction activities and grading for parking areas. The facility is located in an urban, mixed-use area. The facility is owned by the U.S. Government and controlled by the 88th RSC. Sturtevant USARC consists of a training building and a vehicle maintenance shop (Organizational Maintenance Shop or OMS in Army Reserve terminology). The buildings are in good condition and do not appear to have been significantly modified since their original construction. Neither of them exhibit significant architectural character or merit. The maintenance building functions as a vehicle maintenance facility for Sturtevant USARC. Constructed in 1994, it is a one-and-one-half-story rectangular building with a poured concrete foundation and rock-faced concrete block walls. Three metal overhead-retractable bay doors are located on the south wall. Three paired metal pedestrian doors are located on the west wall and a concrete ramp parallel to the west wall leads up to two of the doors. A flat roof covers the structure. |
