A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. DECORATIVE STONEWORK AROUND WINDOWS AND IN PIERS. OFFICES ABOVE GARAGES. Curved parapet capped with cast stone coping. Cast stone accents and lintels throughout building. Lower plaque reads DENMARK VILLAGE HALL; upper plaque reads FIRE DEPARTMENT. 2009- "The Denmark Fire Company and Village Hall was constructed around 1925 to house the fire truck at street level and village offices on the second floor. The building is two stories, with a flat roof and shaped parapet. The building is clad in brick with cast stone sills, coping, and accents. Two rectangular cast stone plaques are present; the first story reads "DENMARK FIRE CO" and the second story reads "VILLAGE HALL". Newer signs on the lintels of the first-story garage doors read "POLICE" and "VIKING RESCUE SQUAD". A smaller service door next to the two large doors leads to the second story. Three windows are present on the second story of the front, and fenestration is regular along the side walls as well. All the building's windows appear to be original one-over-one double hungs, although the first-story garage doors are modern steel replacements." -"CTH KB: CTH R to Prospect St", WisDOT#4538-04-71, Prepared by Justin Miller, (2009). |
