| Additional Comments |
A 'site file' titled "Horlick Industrial Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. 2011- "Built in 1916, the 2-story garage (1500 Summit Ave.) is irregular in plan with a concrete foundation, brick walls, and a flat roof. The front elevation faces west and is asymmetrical in plan due to uneven fenestration along the first story. The corbelled corner capitals and cornice common to many buildings in the complex are also located around the roofline of the garage. A small parapet is located in the center of the front elevation; the parapet also contains the same corner and cornice treatment. An overhead garage door is located just off-center. All of the window openings in the first story of the front elevation have been boarded over or filled in with concrete blocks. A single door is located near the southern corner. All of the original windows in the second story of the fa9ade have been replaced with smaller 1-over-1 windows." -"Horlick Industrial Historic Districkt", WisDOT #2290-17-00, Prepared by GLARC (Gail Klein), (2011). |
