Additional Comments Surveyed 2020: Constructed to replace a structure that burned in 1926, this commercial vernacular, brick building faces north and is located on the south side of North Water Street. Its very simple design employs a centered, recessed doorway flanked by a three course, brick bulkhead crowned by concrete that carries the adjacent display windows. A single transom window is above the doorway. Immediately above the doorway and its display windows is another narrow window that extends the width of the building and contains three equally sized panes, above which is a course of vertically-placed, brick stretchers that also extends the width of the building. Symmetrically placed on the second floor are two, three window units each containing a large, centered, one-over-one-light, double-hung sash flanked by narrower, one-over-one-light double hung sashes. Each unit has a continuous, concrete sill terminated on its ends by a decorative, concrete block. The window heads are comprised of two courses of vertically placed, brick headers terminated on each end by a small, concrete block. A very subtle cornice nominally highlighted by corbeled bricks and concrete coping crowns the structure.
