Additional Comments A fine clapboard and shingle Queen Anne residence. Distinctive features include an octagonal corner tower, numerous bay windows which reflect the characteristic irregular plan, and a front veranda. THERE IS A CARRIAGE HOUSE ALSO ON THE PROPERTY.

The house was built from a popular plan and pattern book of the period by George F. Barber of Knoxville, Tennessee. Characteristic of other Barber houses, the Hanson House displays overly bulbous porch posts. The house has been slightly altered by the removal of the front wrap around porch, new windows, and an added side vestibule. In 1941, the house was converted into three apartments, which is its current function.

2016- "This house is a fine example of Queen Anne style architecture with fish scale shingles that can be seen in the gable ends and on the octagonal tower. A single-story porch with spindle work and a pent roof spans the main facade and the entrance is accented by bulbous columns.

The house was converted into three apartments in 1941."
