Large projecting cornice with brackets and parapet above; full length brick piers wth decorative capitols and upper story extension up to the cornice. Two and a half upper stories divided into three window bays with capped pilasters framing the center bay, floral plaques of classical design between the 2nd and third story, projecting cornice over the 2nd story bay window; tained glass, leaded glass, transom windows over the 2nd and 3rd story windows and small plain windows (added to original structure) in the upper half story; plain secondary cornice over store front divided by short capped brick piers and leaded glass transom windows; elevated foundation; recessed double leafed entrance door. #650: 1 South 4th Street, 201 S. 4th Street. Constructed in 1891 by John Lienlokken and used by Tausche Hardware for the company's office building early in the 1900s, the Leinlokken Bank Building is one of the late 19th century in the city, having retained the original street level facade including the fence. See 135 and 201 South 4th Street. Used as a bank in 1891. It was purchased by Tausche Hardware in 1908, remodeled by adding an additional half story. |
