This one story commercial building hsa a flat roof and brick and metal exterior fabric. Plate glass is on the 1st story. The entry is stepped back. Upper level brickwork forms a rectangular pattern. There is a rear addition. Alterations have changed the character of this store front. It has no architectural significance because of this. In 1887 this was the site of a 2 story frame building with a slate roof. It sold furniture and refinishing was done in the back. It was destroyed in 1899 by the tornado. Rebuilt in 1900, it was brick and housed a meat store. It was 1 story with a slate roof. By 1927 the roof was composite. Pearsons Clothing was here in the 1950's. A photo shows a brick facade with a cornice and canvas awning. This site has developed much like the rest of the business district and has no historical significance. |
