| Additional Comments | This one and one half story Queen Anne styled house features an irregular shaped plan configuration, a granite stone and stone foundation, a clapboard and wood shingled exterior, a wood trim and an asphalt shingled multi-gabled roof with dormers. An attic story pediment in the front is adorned with a round arched window and keystone, and decorative wood shingles. Directly below it is a pent roof supported by brackets. Another attic pediment caps a two story side bay. The front porch has an open design; its flat roof is supported by iron posts. The residence is in good condition. A garage is a related building. Architectural/Engineering Singificance: This structure contributes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Park Historic District under Criterion C as yet another example of Berlin's most popular turn-of-the century house type. This is one of a considerable numer of similar houses, apparently by the same designer, to be found all over Berlin. This house retains its historic character in spite of the insensitive alterations to the front porch. |
