Additional Comments
This two story Queen Anne styled house features an irregular shaped plan configuration, a granite stone foundation, a clapboard and wood shingled exterior, a wood trim and an asphalt sinlgled gable and hip roof. An attic story pediment crowns a three sided bay in the second story. The pediment, identially matching two others on the side elevations, has modillion like brackets and a pent roof. Spanning the full lenght of the facade is a front porch. Its hipped roof is supported by Tuscan columns. A balustrade, a clapboarded porch base and a dentil trimmed cornice are other porch elements. The residence is in good condition. Architectural/Engineering Significance: This structure contributes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Park Historic District under Criterion C as a fine example of a Free Classic phase Queen Anne house with unusually picutreque gables betraying the influence of the Shingle style. The Doric columned front porch is a handsome feature. The house has been preserved virtually intact since it was built at the turn-of-the-century.
