WOOD SHINGLES AND BARGE BOARDS IN GABLES. SPINDLED PORCH AND BAY ON FRONT. PORCH ON SIDE. George Trogner was Neillsville's most significant builder of the 1880s, 90s and early 1900s. He built this house for himself and used the best and grandest designs and materials available to him. Compatible rear addition and full porch have been added by the Jenkins. A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation-Public History. 2016- "Mr. Trogner was born in 1847. He fought in the Civil War and came to Neillsville in 1865. He has been described as "having attained a place of honor among men." As one of Neillsville's most prominent citizens, Trogner was a contractor, builder and proprietor of a large planing and saw mill.
