Parlor
Image
A parlor or sitting room, with a view into a small room beyond a doorway, probably in the tower of the George and Henriette Brumder mansion at the corner of Grand (later Wisconsin) Avenue and 18th Street. There is damask style wall covering above textured and patterned wainscoting. The chandelier in the far room has been fitted for both gas and electricity. A sculpted bust of a muse with a lyre stands at the left of the doorway. There are upholstered chairs in both rooms.
