A man attends to a control panel of a factory machine that tests a large gear. The Falk Corporation later purchased and used this gear. Original Falk caption reads, "Gear: 229 teeth, 1 1/2 2DP, 23 degree full depth herringbone, 20 inch face width, 152,667 inch pitch diameter, 153.893 outside diameter, 17.869 inch bore, medium carbon cast steel annealed, rough weight is 26,260 pounds. Split rim and hub, drawing 407932, pattern 11485 H A/B. The gear was originally sold to Nordberg Manufacturing Company on M.O. 460-119 in 1951, and replaced in 1955 by a gear manufactured on M.O. 5545-0065. The integral with shaft pinion is similar to the pinion shown on drawing 317102, and was salvaged after manufacturing errors made it unsuitable for the original order. Pinion P.D. is 14.133 inch, O.D. is 15.359 inch, 21 teeth."
