2000- This 2-story, frame construction, vernacular house appears to have bee built ca. 1885 as a Gabled Ell. the original Gabled Ell section has a fieldstone basement. A 2-story, hip-roofed addition tucked into the ell appears to date from ca. 1920 and rests on a concrete basement. Both sections are finished with asbestos shingle siding. Asphalt shingles cover the roof sections. Replacement windows in reduced openings appear on the first and second stories. A frame, ca. 1930 garage stands to the west of the house. The house is a modest example of a vernacular form and exhibits poor integrity due to the asbestos shingle siding and replacement windows in reduced openings. No historic significance was found during the survey for the 2000 WisDOT project. A formal Determination of Eligibilty (DOE) was not recommended. |
