This two story brick building was constructed in 1932 by the Dells Lodge No. 78 and was used as a Masonic Temple. It is three bays across with brick pilasters at the corners and on each side of the central bay. The roof is flat with smooth concrete keystone. A concrete inlay with the Masonic seal is located at the second story; however, it is obscured by two round signs for the current business. The bays on either side of the central entrance contain eight over eight, double hung sash windows with smooth concrete sills and brick lintels on each story. The west and east elevations contain six over six windows. Decorative concrete diamonds sit below the cornice. What appears to be a simple cornice is covered by the "My Gang Antiques" sign. A cornerstone that reads "LDFD 1972" is located at the northeast corner. It was placed there when the building was used by the Lake Delton Fire Department in 1972. The building was also used as a community teenage dance hall and it currently houses an antique store. According to the current owner, the interior of the building consists of a large, open room on the second floor. The first floor contains an open space in the center with smaller rooms located on the east and west sides. The first floor also contained men's and women's restrooms, but the men's restroom was removed when the building was converted into an antique store. The ceilings throughout the building have been replaced. This property was surveyed as part of WISDOT #5060-00-03. |
