| Additional Comments | String courses along the parapet; the tile veneer along front possibly added and first floor store front modified. John A. Bryan operated a butcher shop by 1870 (Chapin 1870). He owned the property at 119 E. Cook from 1868 through 1904 and presumably ran his business in the building on the property which was replaced between 1882 and 1885. By 1908 through 1910, John A. Bryan had moved to 109 E. Cook (56/9) and purchased that building during that interval. By 191101912, John A. Bryan had moved into his new building at 111 E. Cook. He remained in business through 1914. By 1917, Otto C. Schwartz operated a shoe store in the building. By 1929, the Ideal Dry Cleaners owned by Robert P. Peschl located in the building. The Red Goose Shoe Store had replaced this business by 1948 and remained there through 1955. |
