Additional Comments This house contributes to the architectural significance of the proposed Jefferson Avenue Historic District as a very stripped down version of the Prairie Style. The overall form and massing suggest the style, but does not have the broad horizontal emphasis of the best examples. The windows are also not set in window bands or a suggestion of window bands on the second story. However, this house is very well-preserved and attractive.

This house was built by Harry Summers, a local architect and building contractor with A. Summers & Son. The low pitched gable roof has deep eaves and grouped casement windows, which are hallmarks of the style influenced by the early work of Frank Lloyd Wright.
