WHRAB Professional Development Scholarship
Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board
The Wisconsin Historical Records Advisory Board (WHRAB), in conjunction with the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) has allocated scholarship
aid to support continuing archival education for graduate students and archivists.
The WHRAB will award scholarships assisting individuals to attend:
- The Midwest Archives Conference annual meeting or Fall Symposium; due 3/15/2024
- The Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting; due 5/1/2024
- The Wisconsin Historical Society’s annual Local History and Historic Preservation Conference. Exact due date TBD, likely August 2024
Eligibility
- Graduate students enrolled in a Wisconsin institution of higher education
- Individuals currently working (or volunteering) in a Wisconsin repository, library, and/or local historical society.
Recipients are eligible for a WHRAB scholarship no more than once each calendar year, and recipients must use the funds to attend one of conferences indicated above. No advanced payments will be made; recipients will be reimbursed for conference-related expenses supported by documentation. Recipients are solely responsible for any tax obligations.
How to Apply
Please complete the application form, and send the form, along with a 500-word (maximum) statement describing how attendance at the conference you select will improve your skills or your institution’s management of archival records.
