The Best Power for the Farmer
n the early 20th century, gasoline power transformed the quality of American farm labor. Safer, cheaper, simpler, and more versatile than steam engines or animals, gasoline engines took the hard, physical labor out of many farm chores. This poster shows gasoline powered tractors and stationary engines performing such chores as plowing, cutting wood, pumping water, separating cream, and grinding feed.
