A government newsletter explains American life to Southeast Asian refugees, 1975-76

Thang-tiên. Wisconsin ways.

The first Southeast Asian refugees arrived in Wisconsin in 1975, aided, in part, by the U.S. Catholic Conference and the Lutheran Immigrant and Refugee Service. Soon after, the Wisconsin Resettlement Assistance Office was created to help coordinate both public and private refugee services and to provide information. In December of 1975, the Resettlement Assistance Office began publishing a bi-lingual newsletter for refugees that contained general information about life in Wisconsin, government services, national holidays, weather, nutrition, and more to help refugees better adjust to their new homes.
