Moses McCure Strong letter, Nov. 8, 1847
Moses McClure Strong came to Wisconsin in 1836 and settled in Mineral Point. Strong speculated heavily in lead mining ventures in Iowa and Lafayette counties and was active in several railroad schemes. This letter to James B. Campbell, dated Nov. 8, 1847, describes the mineral resources of the region and includes a map.
