Recollections of the settlement of Milwaukee
James Smith Buck settled in Milwaukee in 1836 where he worked as a builder and contractor, helping to erect many of the first buildings erected in Milwaukee. In this 1873 reminiscence, he describes life in early Milwaukee and his recollections of other settlers. Note: this 24-page manuscript has not yet been transcribed.
